The exhibition, ‘From the Banks of the Thames to Other Places’ runs from Wed. 18th. Sept. to Sun. 29th Sept. at the Robert Phillips Gallery at the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre in Manor Road Walton. It features scenes along the Thames and Wey but ventures further afield to other areas such as Italy and the Mediterranean. It also includes drawings done at Chertsey Artists’ Thursday evening sessions from a live model.

Winner of the Barrie Novell Life and Portrait Prize: “Caught in the Footlights” by Avis Al-Rikabi
Barrie Novell was a much loved model known to many of our artists who died shortly before the exhibition. A part of the space was dedicated to Barrie with pictures of him from all of our sessions.
The exhibits were a mixture of priced and not for sale items. Visitors interested in a particular picture or artist are invited to leave details so the artist can contact them after the event. We do not take any commission.We would like to thank Squires for the use of The Orangery, their helpful staff and great coffee.”

Chertsey Artists members have helped contribute to the renovation of the The Oasis Cafe at RAF Mount Pleasant on the Falkland Islands. This is a facility for service personnel and is a CESSAC (Church of England Soldiers, Sailors, & Airmen’s Charity) Centre. A key driving force behind this project is Shannon Saise-Marshall who until fairly recently shared a studio at Chertsey Artists with her daughter Anabel. Military volunteers on site renovated the premises and Chertsey Artists members provided works of art to add to the ambiance. Fourteen works of art from our members now hang in the Oasis Cafe. Those members who contributed to this project were.

Chertsey Artists will be holding their annual Christmas Exhibition at No Naked Walls gallery in Chertsey.The exhibition will run from Thursday 8th December 2016 to Saturday 10th December 2016 and is open from 10:00am to 5:00pm daily.

Chertsey Artists were invited to contribute to the Ottershaw Open Gardens in 2016 which took place on the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of July 2016. A big thank you to all those who contributed work.

Antony Williams is having a solo exhibition of recent work at Messum’s 28 Cork Street, London from 27th June until 15th July 2016.
