Summer Exhibition

June 22, 2019

Exhibitions, Slider

This was our first exhibition since the move from Windsor Street and was held in June at The Orangery, at Squires Garden Centre in Halliford Road over a weekend. The exhibition was staged to make locals aware of our community and it’s new base in Sunbury at the Riverside Arts Centre. We hope they liked what they saw and come and join us at one our three weekly sessions or our two monthly Saturday sessions. We had a display of Portrait and Life studies to show what we do.
The venue proved popular with artists who liked the good light, high ceiling and amount of wall space allowing more and larger artworks to be hung. We had over 120 quality artworks on show and the hanging was professional and impressive.

Barrie Novell was a much loved model known to many of our artists who died shortly before the  exhibition. A part of the space was dedicated to Barrie with pictures of him from all of our sessions.

The exhibits were a mixture of priced and not for sale items. Visitors interested in a particular picture or artist are invited to leave details so the artist can contact them after the event. We do not take any commission. We would like to thank Squires for the use of The Orangery, their helpful staff and great coffee.”
